Baseball Welcomes Zapotek from Transfer Portal

Head Coach Gregg Ritchie and the George Washington baseball program have announced the addition of pitcher Matt Zapotek from the transfer portal. Zapotek arrives in Foggy Bottom after one season with Rice. A native of Cypress, Texas, Zapotek appeared in 11 games for the Owls in 2025, all of which came in relief. He struck out eight batters in 8.2 total innings and tallied a season-high two strikeouts against USC.
