Pierce named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week

By Thomas Corhern, TTU Athletics Media Relations COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech junior outside hitter Alayna Pierce was on fire this weekend as she earned Most Valuable Player honors at the 2026 Golden Eagle Invitational presented by Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express. On Monday, she was honored by the Southern Conference as the league’s Offensive Player of the Week. For the week, Pierce, a Genoa, Ill., native, collected 67 total kills on 148 attempts in the 13 sets played, averaging 5.15 kills per set for a .284 hitting percentage as the Golden Eagles defeated Austin Peay and…
