Top 10 QB single-game rushing performances in NFL history

Editor’s note: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts rushed for 157 yards on 17 carries in a Sunday Night Football win at home over the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 27, 2022. Hurts’ performance is good for fifth-best all time by a QB in a single game.

CHICAGO (BVM) – Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields made NFL history on Nov. 6, rushing for 178 yards against the visiting Miami Dolphins, the most rushing yards by a quarterback in a regular season game in league history. The Chicago signal caller also became the first player in NFL history to rush for at least 140 yards and throw three or more TD passes in a game.

“It means a lot,” Fields said of the record. “Credit to God like I said before. it’s all because of Him not because of me. He blessed me with these gifts and I’m just happy to use them.”

While Fields’ performance was a historic one, he doesn’t hold the record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single game in league history. Here are the top 10 quarterback single-game rushing performances in NFL history.
