V-A boys qualify for State

AFTON – The Velma-Alma boys golf team has qualified for the 2A State Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. The Comets fired a team-total 344 Wednesday at the Class 2A West Region Tournament at The Coves Golf Course in Afton and finished fourth in team standings to punch their ticket to State. The 2A State Tournament will be Monday and Tuesday at Territory Golf and Country Club in Duncan. Latta won the regional championship, touring the par-72 course in a total of 305 shots.
