Nevada’s Bosetti sets NCAA record with consecutive HR streak
RENO, Nev. (BVM) – It took just one at-bat in a non-conference slugfest on Tuesday for Nevada third baseman Tyler Bosetti to set a new NCAA record. The redshirt junior connected on his 11th home run of the season which gave him a home run in nine consecutive games, setting a new NCAA record he just tied the day before.
The previous record of eight games was held by Duke’s Ryan Jackson in 1994 and Georgia Tech’s Andy Bruce in 1991 prior to that. Bosetti’s record-setting home run was one of his four hits on the day as he went 4-for-5 at the plate with a home run, a double, three RBIs and two runs scored.

During his nine-game home run streak, Bosetti is batting .442 with 10 home runs, two doubles, two triples, 19 hits, 21 RBIs and 20 runs scored. The record comes just a week after Bosetti earned Mountain West Player of the Week honors, and his 11 home runs this season lead both the team and conference.
Despite the continued hot streak at the plate, the Wolf Pack were outscored 14-11 by Arizona State on Tuesday, snapping their eight-game winning streak. Bosetti was one of four Nevada batters to record a home run, along with Dillan Shrum, Matt Clayton and Landon Wallace, the first of his collegiate career.
The Wolf Pack return to Mountain West play this weekend with a three-game series at Fresno State beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday. Nevada will look for its ninth consecutive conference win.
