Bellbrook Golden Eagles running back Seth Borondy is off and running in 2021

BELLBROOK, Ohio — Bellbrook senior running back Seth Borondy is off to a fantastic start for the Golden Eagles offense.

The Bellbrook running back has an NFL comparison to Carolina Panthers star Christian McCaffrey during last season. His ability to line up at running back and receiver make him a special player. The Golden Eagles head coach Jeff Jenkins had this to say about his senior running back last season.

“He’s a dual-threat. He’s a kind that we can definitely throw to out of the backfield. He’s got good length, good size, and good speed. It makes him a difficult guy to cover.”

The Bellbrook running back registered 988 all-purpose yards and 12 total touchdowns last season. That earned the running back OPSWA Division III Third Team All-Ohio and SWBL Southwestern Player of the Year honors.

Since joining the Bellbrook varsity football team, Seth Borondy has recorded 2,045 all-purpose yards and 27 touchdowns. That success has carried over to his senior season.

Borondy currently sits fourth in receiving yards and seventh in rushing yards in the Southwestern Buckeye League. The senior running back is coming off a great outing against Tecumseh. Chillicothe’s senior running back recorded 19 carries for 119 yards and two touchdowns in the Golden Eagles 28-9 victory.

That performance against Tecumseh could be the start of a massive three-game stretch for Borondy. Bellbrook travels to Eaton on Friday night and welcomes Franklin next Friday. Borondy had huge games against both Eaton and Franklin last season.

Borondy rushed for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 18 attempts against the Eaton Eagles in 2020. In addition to his rushing totals, the senior running back had a reception for 35 yards and a touchdown. His performance led the Golden Eagles to a 42-0 victory over the Eagles last season.

On September 4, 2020, Bellbrook welcomed the Franklin Wildcats, and Seth Borondy shredded Franklin on the ground. Borondy rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries. The senior running back also added a reception for 16 yards.

Bellbrook will give Seth Borondy a heavy workload against both Eaton and Franklin over the next two games. If history repeats itself, Borondy should see a big jump in the SWBL rushing and receiving yard rankings. The senior running back is the complete package and is on pace for another monumental season in 2021.
