Southwestern Buckeye League: Who is the better, RB Seth Borondy or Elijah Jackson?

BELLBROOK, Ohio — Bellbrook High School’s senior running back, Seth Borondy, and Monroe High School’s junior running back, Elijah Jackson, are in a head-to-head battle. Borondy and Jackson are both having tremendous seasons running the football.

Bellbrook and Monroe are set to meet on Oct. 15. That game will be one to watch when the top two running backs in the Southwerstern Buckeye League go head-to-head. The question is, who is the better running back?

As it sits right now, Elijah Jackson has the slight lead over Seth Borondy. Jackson has rushed for 1,292 yards and 12 touchdowns on 141 attempts.

The junior running back has only rushed for under 100 yards one time this season. Elijah Jackson’s best game was against Western Brown, where he rushed for 403 yards and three touchdowns on 36 attempts.

Jackson has rushed for over 200 yards three times against Talawanda, Western Brown, and Carlisle. His best rushing touchdown performance was against Oakwood, where he rushed for four touchdowns.

Seth Borondy has rushed for 1,066 yards and 12 touchdowns on 136 attempts. Borondy has added ten receptions for 215 yards. The senior running back is a critical piece to Bellbrook’s success this season.

After a slow start on the ground, Seth Borondy rushed for over 100 yards in each of the last four games. Bellbrook has climbed up the standings in the SWBL behind massive performances by Borondy.

Seth Borondy has rushed for 646 yards and seven touchdowns on 50 attempts during the last two games. Borondy averaged 12.9 yards per attempt against Franklin and Waynesville, and his best performance came against Franklin, where he rushed for 356 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries.

That brings us back to our original question, who is the better running back, Seth Borondy or Elijah Jackson? Both running backs are talented and essential to their team’s success. When it comes to who the better running back is, the edge would have to go to Bellbrook’s Seth Borondy.

Borondy contributes in more ways than one for the Bellbrook Golden Eagles. Borondy can run the football and catch the ball out of the backfield, and Bellbrook’s senior running back has taken care of the football by not registering a single fumble this season.

When looking at the overall importance to their team, Borondy has the edge there as well. Bellbrook will go as far as Seth Borondy takes them in the Division III Ohio High School playoffs.
