Nebraska football’s top 10 players of all-time
Lawrence Phillips, Running Back
Phillips was a beast behind the o-line at Nebraska. Although he doesn’t touch the career section of Nebraska statistics, his 1994 season was one of the best rushing seasons in program history. He carried for over 1,800 yards in a single season and is tied with Mike Rozier, Taylor Martinez and Abdullah with four rushing touchdowns in a single game. He read the holes in the front seven and exploited the defensive weakness by running through anyone that was smaller than him. At six-foot, 224 pounds, he was a freight train in the way of the defense.
