Top 10 Texas RBs for 2022 HS football season
AUSTIN, Texas (BVM) – Texas is famous for its high school football. In honor of the 2022 season about to start, here is a deep dive into the 10 best running backs in Texas. These are the guys that are going to be a must watch and many of them will no doubt go from Friday night lights to playing on Saturday and then maybe even on Sunday in the near future.
10. Cameron Cook, Sr., Stony Point
Cook doesn’t have the numbers that some of the other backs on this list have but he is an extremely efficient runner. As a sophomore for Stony Point High School, the four-star running back averaged 102.5 yards per game and had 14 receptions for 156 yards. Last season, Cook was able to rush 695 yards and seven touchdowns on just 87 attempts over the seven games he played. Had Cook not gotten injured, he would put up even better numbers. His ability to be a dual-threat running back and have a presence in the passing game will be on full display this season. Cook is healthy now and the TCU commit will once again be a big-play threat every time he touches the football.
