Eli Manning becomes Chad Powers at Penn State walk-on tryout
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. (BVM) — Former New York Giant and two-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Eli Manning pulled a prank at a walk-on tryout for Penn State football posing as a home-schooled QB, Chad Powers.

The video is one of the new episodes of “Eli’s Places,” which is produced by Omaha Productions on ESPN+. During the segment, the 41-year-old Manning ran a 5.49 second 40-yard dash and threw nothing but go routes to his receivers. Manning was so well disguised that his talents quickly spread around campus, and people came to see the show he was putting on.
Now, it’s pretty evident that Manning didn’t make the team. But that could beg the question: Does Manning have enough left in the tank to make an NFL comeback? With an overall record of 117-117 as a starter and 366 touchdown passes, Manning has the pedigree of a great quarterback. And with quarterbacks like Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger playing later into their careers, Manning could potentially find himself stepping onto the NFL gridiron again.
However, Manning did retire in 2020 and has had great success with his brother Peyton on the “Manningcast” and other endeavors. But if an NFL team were to call for Eli’s services, the two-time Super Bowl MVP may not turn an offer down right away.
