Holiday brothers, Campbell Hall alumni, among NBA sibling trios

LOS ANGELES (BVM) – There are countless sibling duos in the NBA – such as brothers Seth and Steph Curry – but sibling trios in the NBA are far more rare.

Campbell Hall School graduates Jrue Holiday (Class of 2008), Justin Holiday (Class of 2007) and Aaron Holiday (Class of 2015) are amongst the small group of brother trios who got the golden ticket into the pros.

High school careers

Jrue was ranked as the No. 2 overall prospect in his class by Rivals. For his senior season, the McDonald’s All-American and 2008 Gatorade National Player of the Year averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds as he led the team to a 31–5 record and a state title.

Justin as a senior was averaging fewer less with 19 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, but he did lead Campbell Hall to a near-perfect 33-1 record. 247 Sports ranked him as the No. 18 small forward in his class.

Jrue and Justin, being close in age, had the chance to dominate on the court together. Years later, Aaron started as a freshman and no one was surprised that he was averaging 24 points a game in his first season. ESPN ranked him as the No. 88 overall player in his class by his senior season.

Jrue went on to play for UCLA (2008–09), Justin went to Washington (2007–2011) and Aaron also chose UCLA (2015–18).

Making NBA history

On Dec. 28, 2019, the three made history as the first trio of brothers to ever play in the same NBA game. Then-New Orleans Pelicans guard Jrue saw time on the court against then-Indiana Pacers guard Aaron and Pacers forward Justin. Jrue and the Pelicans won, 120-98.

The Holiday brothers have also independently made history in the NBA Finals. Justin is a 2015 NBA champion with the Golden State Warriors and Jrue earned a championship ring in 2021 with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Jrue, a Buck, and Justin and Aaron, who are Atlanta Hawks this season, will see their teams make additional NBA history very soon. The league will be making its debut in the United Arab Emirates and Arabian Gulf region next Thursday as the Bucks take on the Hawks in Abu Dhabi.

Other current NBA brother trios for the 2022-23 season include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kostas Antetokounmpo and Thanasis Antetokounmpo. On Monday, LiAngelo Ball signed a non-guaranteed contract with the Charlotte Hornets – if he makes his NBA debut, he will join brothers LaMelo Ball and Lonzo Ball in NBA trio history.
