Top 10 Wisconsin Badgers running backs of all time

9. P.J. Hill (2006-2008)

With the elite backs Wisconsin has had over the past decade, Hill is often a forgotten guy, but was tremendous for the Badgers in the mid 2000s. A big-bodied back from the East Coast, Wisconsin looked at Hill to potentially be a similar-styled back as Ron Dayne to start the Bret Bielema era. His career never reached those heights, but he was still a special back and proved so right off the bat with 1,569 yards and 15 rushing touchdowns as a freshman. He was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and a second-team All-Big Ten player in 2006. Hill again put up 1,000-yard rushing seasons in 2007 and 2008, scoring 28 total touchdowns. Hill left Wisconsin to pursue his pro dreams after the 2008 season. He spent time briefly in New Orleans as an undrafted free agent, and bounced around with a couple of other NFL squads. Had Hill stayed, he may be even higher on this list, but his 3,942 career rushing yards still rank seventh all time in Badgers history, as do his 42 career touchdowns.
