Top 10 Detroit Red Wings goalies of all time
5. Mike Vernon (1995-97)
The 5-foot-9 netminder from Calgary keyed the Motor City’s championship drive. Vernon allowed the NHL’s fewest goals in 1996 and claimed the Jennings Trophy. His 2.26 goals-against average that year was a career-best. In 1997, he put an end to Detroit’s 42-year title drought and seized the Conn Smythe Trophy.
