Top 10 Timberwolves players of all time
9. Sam Mitchell, F
Mitchell was never as exciting to watch as Edwards is, but the 18-year NBA veteran is near the top of many Timberwolves’ franchise records. Another Georgia native, Mitchell played 10 seasons in Minnesota and is the franchise’s fourth-leading scorer (7,161 points) and fifth-leading rebounder (3,030). He would rejoin the Timberwolves in 2014 when he was hired as an assistant coach before becoming the franchise’s interim head coach in 2015 when Flip Saunders was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. For his contributions as both a player and coach, as well as for being an original Timberwolf (part of the inaugural 1989 squad), Mitchell has earned a spot on this list.
