College basketball’s top 10 freshmen so far in 2022-23 season
4. GG Jackson, F, South Carolina
Jackson has played very well for his hometown South Carolina Gamecocks thus far, averaging 17 points and over six rebounds. Although South Carolina is only a .500 team, Jackson has certainly done his part, scoring in double figures in every game highlighted by a couple of 22-point outings against South Carolina Upstate and Georgetown. One of the youngest players in all of college basketball after reclassifying from the Class of 2023, the 6-foot-9 Jackson has often looked more like a seasoned veteran on the floor for the Gamecocks, and will be a name to remember heading into SEC conference play.
