PHOENIX (BVM) – J.J. Watt announced via Twitter that he would be retiring following the 2022 NFL season. Since entering the league in 2011, Watt has become one of the best defensive players in NFL history. He finishes his football career with three Defensive Player of the Year awards, a Walter Payton Man of the Year award, seven All-Pro selections, five Pro Bowl selections and he was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team. Watt is one of the few defensive players to surpass 100 career sacks. He’s also the only player to ever record at least 20 sacks in multiple seasons.
