Who will be Wisconsin’s starting quarterback in 2023?
Nick Evers
Evers is the hot name around the program right now as Fickell made an early splash shortly after being hired by bringing in the former four-star Oklahoma quarterback, but like the rest of the guys on this list, he is still relatively inexperienced and unproven. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that he has immense upside which made him a four-star recruit coming out of high school. In his one season at Oklahoma, Evers only saw action in a blowout loss to Texas in which he attempted one pass that fell incomplete. So, similar to Burkett, Evers’ potential stems from what he did during his high school career at Flower Mound in Texas. He was a top-10 quarterback in the Class of 2022 and a top-150 prospect by most outlets as he threw for nearly 5,000 yards and scored a combined 62 touchdowns across his junior and senior seasons. Evers is a dual-threat with his legs as well, rushing for over 600 yards in his senior season at Flower Mound. If the Wisconsin offense gets a new look with former North Carolina offensive coordinator Phil Longo expected to join Fickell’s staff, they could look at Evers as the best fit.
