Ranking the top 10 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists

3. Darrelle Revis, CB, New York Jets

The owner of perhaps the best nickname among the finalists, Revis was easily one of the most recognizable players in the league during his peak. The term “Revis Island” became synonymous with dominance and Revis was one of the first players to follow the opposing team’s No. 1 option.

With his ability to shut down an entire side of the field, Revis earned a number of accolades including seven Pro Bowl nods, four first-team All-Pro selections and was a Super Bowl champion. Revis was also named to the Hall of Fame’s All-Decade team of the 2010s and finished second in voting for the 2009 defensive player of the year. However, Revis’s dominance could also cause some voters to pause as his counting numbers, such as only having 29 interceptions, are quite low. This is Revis’s first year as a finalist.
