2. DeMarcus Ware, Linebacker, Dallas Cowboys
While Allen and Freeney both had Hall of Fame worthy careers as pass rushers, Ware’s is arguably the best of the bunch. With 138.5 sacks, No. 9 all time, nine Pro Bowl nods, four first-team All-Pros and a selection onto the Hall of Fame’s All-Decade team of the 2000s, Ware has both the stats and accolades to back up his selection.
In addition to those accolades, Ware also won Super Bowl 50 as a member of the Denver Broncos and led the league in sacks twice. While Ware should have all the requirements of a Hall of Famer, the other strong pass rush candidates along with another glut of pass rushers coming down the pipe, it may be difficult for Ware to make it this season. This is Ware’s second year as a finalist.
