3. Bryan Trottier, C (1975-90)
Trottier represented the Islanders for 15 years. In his rookie year, he took home the Calder Trophy, an annual honor given to the best player in his first year of competition in the NHL.

He also took home the Hart Memorial Trophy, which recognizes the most valuable player in the NHL, and the Art Ross Trophy, the award given to the player who leads the NHL in points, in 1979. Trottier is also the Islanders’ record holder for points (1,353, games played (1,123) and assists (853).
He entered the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1997, and his No. 19 was retired in 2001.
