4. Nathan MacKinnon, C (2013-Present) 

MacKinnon is the highest–paid player in NHL history after signing an extension in 2022. That came after he helped the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in 2022. He led the team in goals during the postseason and was third in points. MacKinnon won the Calder Trophy as a rookie and has been a five-time All-Star. In just nine seasons with the Avalanche, he has become top 10 all time in goals, assists, points and games played.
