Top 5 NASCAR drivers who could replace Kevin Harvick in 2024

5. Ryan Preece

The 32-year-old Preece is a little older than some of the guys who will appear on this list, but can still classify as another up-and-coming driver. Preece has competed part time with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) and later JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series where he has won multiple races. He also earned his first Truck Series win in 2021. In 2019, Preece signed with JTG Daugherty Racing to become a full-time Cup Series driver. He found himself in the same role in 2020 before competing in just 24 of 36 races in 2021. Without a ride in 2022, Preece joined Stewart-Haas in a reserve role, but late in the year, the team announced he would be promoted to a full-time driver for 2023, taking over the No. 41 car previously driven by Cole Custer. Should he produce good results, it’s possible Stewart-Haas looks to move him into the No. 4 vacated by Harvick. Preece also is represented by KHI Marketing – Harvick’s marketing agency company – which could also play an interesting role in his future.
