NFL QBs with most conference championship appearances
6 – John Elway, Denver Broncos
Elway found more success in the conference championship games than Bradshaw but less success in Super Bowls. During his 16 years with the Broncos, Elway led Denver to six AFC championship games in the 80s and 90s, going 5-1 in those appearances.
In those games, Elway threw for 1,414 yards, 10 touchdowns and just four interceptions for a quarterback ranking of 86.6. Though his team advanced to the Super Bowl five times, Elway went 2-3 in those contests, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy during his final two seasons in 1997 and 1998.
