NFL QBs with most conference championship appearances
7 – Roger Staubach, Dallas Cowboys
Another Hall of Fame quarterback of the 70s, Staubach led America’s Team to a whopping seven NFC championship games in the decade. The quarterback was able to help the Cowboys go to five Super Bowls in the decade, recording a record of 4-2 in those games (he didn’t start the 1970 AFC championship game as he served as Craig Morton’s backup)
Staubach threw for 801 yards, seven touchdowns and eight interceptions in his championship contests for a quarterback ranking of 62.9, but this was enough to help Dallas advance to four Super Bowls with him under center. Unfortunately for Staubach and the Cowboys, they played in the same decade with Bradshaw and the Steelers, who beat Dallas in two of Staubach’s four Super Bowl starts.
