Ranking the top 10 St. Louis Blues players of all time
10. Barclay Plager, D, 1967-77
An original Blue, Plager became the foundation of one of the league’s best defenses. In just year two of the franchise, the Blues allowed the fewest goals in the NHL. Plager, and his brothers Bill and Bob, helped lead St. Louis to three straight Stanley Cup Finals appearances in the organization’s first three seasons. Barclay’s No. 8 was retired in 1981.
