9. Mike Liut, G, 1979-85

Liut emerged as one of the league’s best goaltenders almost immediately in his NHL career. In year two, he finished second in the voting for the Hart Trophy. While advanced analytics were not really a thing at the time, Liut finished with a league-leading 33.5 goals saved above average that season.
