Ranking the top 10 plays in Super Bowl history
10. John Elway’s helicopter run
Eyeing his first ever Super Bowl, 37-year-old John Elway entered the matchup against the Green Bay Packers ready to add the elusive Lombardi Trophy to his on-going legacy. With nearly a one-score game throughout, the Denver Broncos quarterback delivered his iconic eight-yard run midway through the third quarter, eventually leading to a Terrell Davis go-ahead score. The famous “helicopter” scramble, which saw Elway dive over LeRoy Butler, Mike Prior and Brian Williams, helped seal the Broncos’ first of two straight Super Bowl victories.
