Ranking the top 10 plays in Super Bowl history
9. Adam Vinatieri’s game–winning field goal over the St. Louis Rams
“The Greatest Show on Turf” took the NFL by storm throughout 1999-2001 as the St. Louis Rams quickly became the league’s most dominant offense. After a victory in Super Bowl XXXIV, the 14-2 Rams entered the 2001-02 playoffs as one of the favorites to do it again just two years later. After the New England Patriots held a significant lead throughout the matchup, the Rams would overcome the 14-point fourth quarter deficit to even the game. Vinatieri’s 49-yard field goal to win started not only New England’s upcoming dynasty, but became the first part of Tom Brady’s legendary run.
