D-I schools with men’s basketball and football national titles

(BVM) – Many college athletics fanbases like to divide their schools into two distinct categories – a basketball school or a football school. In many cases, these stark differences are easy to identify such as Duke being a basketball school or USC being a football school. However, there are some instances where the lines are seemingly blurred.

With the NCAA men’s basketball tournament quickly approaching, some schools such as Alabama, TCU, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M will be looking to join an elite group of colleges to have won both a football national championship and a men’s basketball national title. Though many teams have won multiple championships in either sport, only 10 have ever won a title in both and only two have ever won multiple championships in both sports.
