Top 10 Illinois high school baseball players in Class of 2023

9. Dominic Voegele, RHP, Columbia

Voegele is one of several star pitchers in Illinois’ senior class, and has continued to showcase his talent the past couple of years at Columbia High School. Voegele is a tremendous athlete, also playing quarterback and defensive back on Columbia’s football team the past few years. However, the mound has been where he has truly shined, as Voegele went 9-3 in his junior season while allowing just 34 hits across 65 innings of work. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound righty also struck out 113 batters – the most at Columbia in a single season since 2007 – en route to leading the Eagles to the IHSA Class 2A state tournament. The Kansas Jayhawks baseball commit will look to do so again this year as he caps off a tremendous high school athletic career.
