Top 10 NFL players who played in NCAA Tournament games
9. Donovan McNabb, Syracuse
One of Owens’ quarterbacks, McNabb also made an appearance in an NCAA Tournament during the 90s. As a walk-on for Syracuse, McNabb didn’t receive much playing time for the Orange, but that didn’t stop him from making an impact on occasion, including a 10-point, six-rebound game against Georgetown on Feb. 9, 1997.
However, for his two tournament games during the 1995-96 season, McNabb averaged just one point over 5.5 minutes. Though he didn’t greatly impact Syracuse during its run to the national championship game, McNabb would become a legend on the football field with the Philadelphia Eagles after leading the team to four NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl appearance.
A walk-on named Donovan McNabb had 10 pts, 6 reb & 1 block in 19 minutes to help lead ‘Cuse to a 77-74 win vs. Georgetown on Feb. 9, 1997 in front of 29,877 in the Carrier Dome. #tbt pic.twitter.com/bG4ahkGgz8
