Kerr Kriisa transferring; Top spots for Pac-12 assist leader
Purdue
Purdue has not used the transfer portal but after the worst loss in program history and the worst loss in NCAA Tournament history, it might be time for head coach Matt Painter to look in the portal. The Boilermakers’ loss to No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson was in part due to a weakness Purdue had all season. The team’s guard play struggled under pressure, they turned the ball over 16 times against the Knights and freshman point guard Braden Smith had seven turnovers. Smith has potential but Purdue struggled all season against full-court pressure. A veteran like Kriisa would help Smith develop and give the Boilermakers a solid point guard. Kriisa could also work well with Purdue’s star center Zach Edey if he decides to stay.
The Boilermakers are reeling after a devastating loss and adding a veteran like Kriisa could bring some excitement back to West Lafayette.
