Tyrese Samuel leaving Seton Hall; 5 possible landing spots

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. (BVM) – Following Seton Hall’s first-round loss in the NIT, first-year head coach Shaheen Holloway was adamant about bringing back Tyrese Samuel for his fifth year of eligibility. Unfortunately for Holloway and the Pirates, Samuel has entered the transfer portal and is also declaring for the NBA draft as reported by  .

Samuel is coming off his best season at Seton Hall. The 6-foot-10 power forward from Montreal had to make the switch to center this season due to the Pirates’ lack of depth in the frontcourt. Samuel took on the new role and thrived. He averaged 11 points, 5.9 rebounds and shot 55% from the field. He was Seton Hall’s second leading scorer and a veteran leader for the team.

The fact that he is looking into the draft may keep some programs from going after Samuels but he is not projected to be drafted and would be an instant help to any college program he joins. Samuel is a true power forward that can also play center and is effective on both sides of the court.

Here are five landing spots for Samuel in the transfer portal.
