Brandon Newman enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots

Kansas State was another team in on Newman during his recruiting process, but that was during former coach Bruce Weber’s reign. Now, Jerome Tang is the head man in Manhattan, Kansas, and is fresh off leading the Wildcats to an Elite Eight appearance. Tang did so by compiling a mix-and-match roster of transfer portal players, so it’s likely he goes to the portal in some capacity again this offseason. Newman doesn’t necessarily provide the shooting or scoring of some of the guys he could replace at Kansas State quite yet, including Markquis Nowell, Desi Sills and Ismael Massoud, but he certainly could emerge into an offensive threat in Tang’s high-octane system. Tang has also spent time developing some tremendous guards in his time as a coach both at Kansas State and Baylor.
