Hailey Van Lith enters transfer portal; Top 5 landing spots
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BVM) – Hailey Van Lith has entered the transfer portal and shocked the women’s college basketball world in the process.
The Louisville All-American guard spent her first three collegiate seasons with the Cardinals, playing in 101 games while averaging 15.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in that span. Van Lith led Louisville to three consecutive Elite Eights, including the 2022 NCAA women’s tournament where the Cardinals made the Final Four as a No. 1 seed and she was named the region’s Most Outstanding Player.
After averaging a career-high 19.7 points this past season, Louisville lost to Iowa in the Elite Eight, effectively ending Van Lith’s career with the Cardinals. The 5-foot-7 junior has been one women’s college basketball’s brightest stars since she was a freshman and leaves Louisville with 1,553 career points (seventh most in Division I among active non-seniors and 12th all-time in program history).
