Top 10 pitchers from the college softball regular season
5. NiJaree Canady, Stanford
The freshman phenom has become one of the budding stars in college softball, helping Stanford to a top-10 ranking and a spot near the top of the Pac-12 standings. Canady has worked to a 0.34 ERA in her opening year, dominating college hitters in her 20-plus appearances. With 146 strikeouts in 83.1 innings pitched, the Cardinal pitcher has shown impressive ability to miss bats and keep runners from scoring. To start the campaign, Canady went 50 innings before allowing her first run and has since only seen three make it home. While senior Alana Vawter has received the bulk of the work, Canady’s 13-0 start has been a perfect compliment.
