Top 5 WNBA Rookie of the Year candidates for 2023
NEW YORK CITY (BVM) – The WNBA is back and rosters are set for the 2023 season. As always in the WNBA, the roster cuts were tough and of the 36 players drafted in the 2023 WNBA Draft, only 15 placed on rosters. Some high-profile players like South Carolina’s Brea Beal and Iowa’s Monika Czinano were among the players who didn’t make the cut.
However, that still leaves plenty of competition for the Kia WNBA Rookie of the Year Award. Last year’s winner, former first overall pick Rhyne Howard, was a dominant force for the Atlanta Dream. The 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.6 steals last year, showing everyone why she was taken first overall in the 2022 WNBA Draft.
Here are the top five candidates who could join Howard as a WNBA Rookie of the Year.
