Nikola Jokic: Where the 40 players drafted before him are now

Doug McDermott (No. 11 by Bulls) – The Spurs forward didn’t start in any games for the 2022-23 season, but he did average 10.2 points and 2.2 rebounds in 64 games. While there are trade rumors swirling, he’s expected to earn a base salary of about $14 million in 2023-24.  

Dario Saric (No. 12 by 76ers) – Saric didn’t make his NBA debut until 2016 since he continued to play in Croatia and Turkey. In early 2023, he was traded by the Suns to the Thunder, where he averaged 7.4 points and 3.3 rebounds. There are a few potential landing spots for him as an unrestricted free agent.

Zach LaVine (No. 13 by Timberwolves) – The two-time NBA All-Star, who averaged 24.8 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Bulls (2022-23), is expected to earn a base salary of about $40 million in 2023-24. 

T.J. Warren (No. 14 by Suns) – After injuries in recent years, Warren signed a one-year, $2,628,597 contract with the Nets. But, he was traded back to the Suns in 2023 – where he averaged 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds a game. He’s considered to be a top free agent available this summer. 

Adreian Payne (No. 15 by Hawks) – Payne was fatally shot on May 9, 2022. Over the duration of his playing career, he bounced around several NBA, European and Asian teams. 

Jusuf Nurkic (No. 16 by Nuggets) –  The injury-prone center averaged 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds with the Trail Blazers (2022-23). He’s expected to earn a base salary of about $17 million in 2023-24.  

James Young (No. 17 by Celtics) – Young lasted just four seasons in the NBA. As of 2023, he plays for Kolossos Rodou of the Greek Basket League. 

Tyler Ennis (No. 18 by Suns) – He played his final season in the NBA with the Lakers (2017-18.) As of 2023, he plays basketball in Turkey with Tofaş. 

Gary Harris (No. 19 by Nuggets) – Harris averaged 8.4 points and two rebounds with the Magic (2022-23) and he’s expected to earn a base salary of about $13 million in 2023-24. 

Bruno Caboclo (No. 20 by Raptors) – He played on several NBA teams and was out of the league by 2021. As of 2023, he plays with the Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany
