Taryn Kern enters transfer portal; 5 landing spots for star
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (BVM) – Freshman second baseman Taryn Kern made her presence felt during her inaugural season with the Indiana Hoosiers. The slugger left an indelible mark on the program, slashing .404/.578/.942 with 23 home runs and 68 RBIs. She led the Big Ten slugging percentage, home runs, RBIs, walks, hit by pitch, runs scored, on-base percentage and OPS on her way to conference and freshman player of the year honors. Kern also finished second in the nation in home runs, third in RBis and fourth in slugging percentage which helped her earn second-team All-American honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
But, despite her success with the Hoosier, the stellar freshman is set to find a new home. Kern entered her name into the transfer portal on Monday, making her one of the biggest names currently in the portal. Given her early returns during her first collegiate season, Kern should have her choice of new college program. Here are five potential landing spots for the star slugger.
