10 players most likely to win 2023 U.S. Open

LOS ANGELES (BVM) – While the recent merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf has dominated many of the headlines surrounding professional golf in recent days, the 123rd U.S. Open is set to begin at Los Angeles Country Club later this week, with several players vying for a victory in the year’s third major championship.

The 156-player field will be one of the best in golf, with Los Angeles Country Club earning one of its first big moments in the spotlight. A major championship hasn’t been held in the area since the 1995 PGA Championship at nearby Riviera Country Club, and the U.S. Open is returning to L.A. for the first time in 75 years, with the last also being held at Riviera in 1948.

The over 7,400-yard, par-70 course features many challenging and unique holes which is sure to keep scores modest as seen in most U.S. Open championships. That means it will take strong play to win this week, with many of the world’s top golfers seemingly ready for the challenge.

Here are the 10 players who are most likely to come away with a victory at this week’s U.S. Open.
