10 players most likely to win 2023 U.S. Open
Honorable mention
Tony Finau
Finau is still looking to break through with his first major win, and despite some poor results as of late, he remains a dark horse to contend at Los Angeles Country Club.
Dustin Johnson
Johnson has played well on the LIV tour this season, but has put together lackluster performances in recent majors. That could change this week, however, as he has six top 10s and a victory across 15 U.S. Open appearances.
Cameron Smith
Not a lot has been heard from Smith since he joined LIV, but just two years ago he was an up-and-comer after winning the Open Championship, and also quietly finished ninth at last month’s PGA Championship.
Jordan Spieth
There are a few guys throughout the list that are hard to ever count out, and Spieth is one of them. A winner at this event in 2015, Spieth has been a bit up and down as of late, but did just finish fifth at the Memorial Tournament.
Nick Taylor
It might be difficult for Taylor to win this weekend coming off a historic and emotional victory at the RBC Canadian Open, but creeping up the leaderboard on Sunday could be possible for the Winnipeg native who has played quite well at times this year.
Justin Thomas
Thomas has had his struggles in the U.S. Open over the years, as well as in the first two majors this season, but he has the kind of game that can come on in any given week.
