Top 10 all-time leading passers in Virginia HS football
9. Ronald Curry, Hampton (1993-97)
Widely considered one of the best athletes in Virginia sports history, Curry excelled both on the basketball court and the gridiron during his four years at Hampton. As the team’s quarterback, Curry threw for 8,212 yards and 90 touchdowns, setting state records for passing yards and total offense yards at the time. Curry committed to North Carolina where he played both football and basketball.
Focusing on his collegiate football career, Curry continued his stellar play with the Tar Heels as he finished as the all-time leader in total yards (now sixth) and second all-time in career passing yards (now sixth). He was selected in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders and spent all seven of his NFL season with the team. Curry now serves as the passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the New Orleans Saints, having coached in the NFL since 2013.
