Top 10 highest-rated California HS football players of all time

T-8. Mark Sanchez, Class of 2005 – .9988

This list begins with a recognizable name in Sanchez who played quarterback for six NFL teams from 2009-2018 following stellar high school and collegiate careers. After transferring to Mission Viejo High School (from Santa Margarita) prior to his junior year, Sanchez led the Diablos to a 27-1 record over his final two prep seasons, culminating with the CIF Division II championship in 2004.

The five-star prospect combined to throw for 4,206 yards and 45 touchdowns to just nine interceptions from 2003-04 before committing to USC as the nation’s top quarterback. After an excellent season in 2008 when Sanchez threw for 3,207 yards and 34 touchdowns, he became the first USC quarterback to leave school early for the NFL since Todd Marinovich did so after the 1990 season.
