Where UGA football’s top-10 rated recruits of the 2000s are now

T-No. 9 – Branden Smith

Smith’s 247 Sports composite rating of 0.9901 ties him as the ninth highest-rated UGA recruit of the 2000s. The 5-foot-11, 171-pound cornerback graduated from Booker T. Washington High School (Georgia) in the Class of 2009.

Smith was extremely hyped heading to UGA as the No. 2 cornerback in the country. As a DB at Georgia, he recorded 80 total tackles. But, he did run into off-field issues, which included an arrest for the possession of marijuana.

Smith went on to get picked by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent, but he was released shortly after. So, he played in the CFL for the next three years.

Today, the retired football player is the CEO of X Fly Life Clothing, according to his Twitter bio. He’s also in the deep cleaning business — which included things like carpets, sofas and cars, according to his Instagram posts.
