Where UGA football’s top-10 rated recruits of the 2000s are now
T-No. 9 – Richard Samuel
Samuel’s 247 Sports composite rating of 0.9901 ties him as the ninth highest-rated UGA recruit of the 2000s. The Class of 2008, 6-foot, 197-pound running back graduated from Cass High School (Georgia).
As a high school senior, he rushed for 1,429 yards and 24 touchdowns. He also recorded 82 tackles, including nine tackles for loss and two sacks. A bright future in the NFL seemed inevitable.
At UGA, Samuel switched from running back, to linebacker, to tailback. Ultimately, he was not selected in the 2013 NFL Draft. So, in 2014, he went back to school for his master’s, according to his LinkedIn.
Today, Samuel is a real estate manager/project manager of Homeside Properties.
