Michael Lorenzen on the trade block; Top 5 landing spots

DETROIT (BVM) — The Detroit Tigers are currently 41-51 and 10 games back of a wild-card spot, meaning they’re not exactly a playoff contender. Detroit will likely look to offload veteran players for young talent, and one of the players likely to be moved is starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen who is playing on a one-year, $8.5 million contract.

The 31-year-old righthander has a 4-6 record, a 3.75 ERA and 73 strikeouts, but he made his first All-Star game appearance and could find himself in a new uniform before Aug. 1, the MLB trade deadline. These are the top five destinations for the nine-year MLB veteran.
