NFL Hall of Famers who went from millionaires to bankruptcy

Warren Sapp

Sapp earned $59 million during his 13 seasons in the NFL (1995-2007). In 2012 – a year before being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame – Sapp filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.

In the bankruptcy documents, Sapp claimed he had more than $6.7 million in debt. He owed a million dollars because of some built-but-unsold houses, as reported by CBS Sports. According to TMZ, he owed tens of thousands of dollars in alimony and child support to the four different mothers of his children. He also had overdue IRS payments from his active years in the NFL. Sapp was known for his ridiculous spending and so it was no surprise to see the 240 pairs of Air Jordans listed under his assets. Interestingly enough, he didn’t list his Super Bowl and college national championship rings because he “lost” them.

Today, Sapp has a net worth of about $500,000 according to Celebrity Net Worth.
