NEW YORK (BVM) – Following Sunday’s games, 15 NFL teams currently find themselves sitting at 0-1. In years past, this record has been an indicator of which teams end up having successful campaigns.
Since the league expanded and realigned in 2002, 75% of teams starting 0-1 did not reach the postseason, according to USA Today. In addition, 81% of Super Bowl champions began their seasons 1-0.
Given this discrepancy, it may seem like a season is already over before it started for many NFL fans. But there is no need to fear as some teams have overcome this slow start to still achieve Super Bowl glory.
