Ranking college football’s top 10 running backs so far in 2023
4. Jawhar Jordan, Louisville
Louisville has surprised many with its 5-0 start and an early-season appearance in the AP top 25. The Cardinals rank No. 13 in total offense under first-year head coach Jeff Brohm, and a big reason why is their talented 5-foot-10 junior running back Jordan. After beginning his collegiate career at Syracuse, Jordan transferred to Louisville in 2021, and put together a solid 2022 campaign with 815 rushing yards. However, he has played at a whole new level in 2023, already running for 510 yards, six touchdowns and a 7.7 yards-per-carry average – the sixth-best mark in the country. Jordan has produced three 100-yard rushing outings through five games, and averages over 100 yards per contest. He is a big reason for the Cardinals’ 2023 success thus far, and will play a big role in helping them compete for an ACC title.
