Ranking the 10 best NFL rookie tight end seasons of all time

10. Junior Miller, Atlanta Falcons – 1980

Out of all of the tight ends on this list, Miller probably went on to have the least productive NFL career as he played just five seasons with the Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact that he had a spectacular rookie season in Atlanta in 1980. A first-round pick of the franchise that year out of Nebraska, the tight end made 46 receptions for 584 yards, but it was his nose for the end zone that was most impressive as he scored nine touchdowns in 1980, the third-most among rookie tight ends all time. Miller would make the Pro Bowl both as a rookie and in his second season in the league in 1981.
